Yume Twins monthly subscription box – January 2017 ***CONTAINS SPOILERS***

Hello Lovelies,

I hope you all had a wonderful festive season and happy new year! This year I’ll be bringing you more awesomeness, hopefully on a more regular schedule! I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for us!

So let’s kick of 2017 with something kawaii! Yume Twins is a monthly cute themed subscription box all the way from Japan which contains 5 high quality items. I believe they have recently re-done the boxes to contain less things but higher quality items. All the contents of the box are premium character goods and are licensed. For $29.99 (or less depending on which plan you sign up too) a month you will received a mixture from plushies, lifestyle, apparel & accessories, stationeries or knickknacks and toys. The boxes are free shipping worldwide. My youngest sister bought me a Yume Twin’s monthly subscription box as a gift, which arrived last weekend which is crazy fast from Japan considering when they shipped with all the holidays in between!

If you haven’t received your box yet and don’t want spoilers, don’t hit the cut below!

So, what was in my box?

Firstly, check out the amazingness that is the Yume Twins box – its sturdy, such a pretty colour and has a really awesome design on the inside too! I felt anything shipped in one of these is going to be pretty safe from breakages, it doesn’t even look like it’s been shipped from Tokyo. I’m totally going to re-use this for something!

A high quality leaflet with details of all the items in the box was included.

I like this, it gave information on everything and what kind of thing it was, and its details like this that really impresses me. It also had information about the Yume Twins monthly roulette and another contest you could enter.

Sanrio Pompompurin socks: You guys, I cannot relay how soft these socks are, and they are probably the softest ones I own! Look how cute the Pompompurin motif is, he’s so cute! These are colourful, fun and amazing. Just perfect. I’ll definitely get a lot of wear out of these (in fact I’m wearing them whilst I write this). I can never find really cute socks like this in the UK so these really make me happy. There were quite a few different designs available in the boxes but this is definitely my favourite.

***UPDATE** Okay, so having worn these all day, one of the socks now has a massive hole in it. The fluffy fabric has separated away from the regular sock fabric. I’m really disappointed as I’m not sure I can fix this.

Rilakkuma pump bottle: My ever favourite Rilakkuma is now in a large size pump bottle! This is really useful and I’ve already decanted my shampoo into it to use. It also brings some kawaii to our bathroom. The bottle really is quite big in size and easily holds a full bottle of shampoo. I wonder if I can find a Korilakkuma one for conditioner to go with it?

Rilakkuma New Years ornament: I am so happy this was in here! I’d seen them advertised on facebook but I’d been unable to purchase one – this is a decoration for the new year and has mochi hidden inside (I’ve yet to sample it!) Traditionally the mochi is eaten during the second week of the new year. Handily there were a few simple instructions in the leaflet on how to pre-pare the mochi (it’s been years since I’ve cooked any so it was great to have a refresher). I think this might be my favourite item in the box – it’s proudly sat on our mantle piece in the living room.

Sailor Moon plushie: My other favourite thing! I Iove, love, LOVE this! It’s so soft and colourful – the only other Sailor Guardian’s I have are some very old Sailor Mercury plushies which aren’t as nice as this. I didn’t have a Sailor Moon plushie and had always wanted one, so this is very much a welcome addition to my collection. It’s really made me smile with its cute little details and expression.

Tsum Tsum pouch: This was the last item in the box. Everyone is obsessed with Tsum Tsums at the moment! It never really appealed to me (I am not a huge Disney fan) but this is really rather cute and will be useful for keeping small toiletries in whilst out and about as it wouldn’t take up much room in my bag. I like that it’s bright and colourful with lots of different characters on.

I really loved this Yume Twins box; I was very impressed with the quality of the items in the box and how quickly this shipped. For essentially $5.99 an item this is excellent value for money especially when you consider that these are official and licensed goods. I’m seriously considering signing up for my own subscription. The only downside I can think of is because it’s a mystery box you don’t know what you are getting and you could potentially end up with a bunch of things that you don’t want or like (This is why I cancelled previous boxes that I was signed up to), but if you are a fan of most things kawaii then this definitely a good bet as there seems to be a good mix of items.

Do you subscribe to Yume Twins? Is there anything you’d like to add? Let me know in the comments below!

Ta-ta for now,

Becky Heart
